Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that I used the terminal to download Ichthux onto my Linux Mint 5 "Elyssa" distro, and it all went super-smooth. Everything works, and looks great. I will have to try out all of the KDE stuff, as I am used to Gnome, but it all loks and behaves wonderfully.
The Ichthux site mentioned that you should have Kubuntu... you might want to let folks with Mint know that it works great on there as well.
Thanks a bunch - I really enjoy it.

I installed ichthux 6.10 and am having severe problems, mainly with the xorg.conf file. It has entries for wacom input devices which I don't have on my computer. It also has entries for fonts that aren't installed:

/usr/share/fonts/X11/TTF (also OTF and CID folders).

Because of these xorg issues (I think), I can't get past the login screen. I can login at a text console (Ctrl-Alt-F3 for example), but never to the GUI.

I booted to the liveCD first and it ran just fine. I was very disappointed after the install to find the system unusable.

Any ideas?

Poiema:

Ichthux has already done some stuff - they ported the Willow NG web filter to KDE for example. If you want to help subscribe to the mailing list - send 'subscribe' to ichthux-devel-request AT crosswire DOT org.

Congrats Raf and team. I have loaded Ichthux over the top of my Ubuntu system. All looks good! Do you have plans of developing or encouraging development of software by your community for Ichthux, that would in turn be offered back to the Ubuntu and a Debian communities? That is what I'd like to see..... a vibrant Christian developer community! I have set PoiemaOS aside due to time and the quality of yours and UbuntuCE's projects. I think my time will be spent on learning to code and maybe trying my hand at some sort of Java desktop system. If I can be of any assistance with Ichthux I'd be glad to help.
